Kielder
Mirage
Five hundred pairs of shiny disks hang high in the trees in a three dimensional
cloud, reflecting light from beyond the forest. Underneath the sculpture, a series
of interlocking terraced decks create a resting place for visitors.

Wave Chamber
Wave Chamber - Chris Drury 1996
Wave Chamber is a camera obscura, projecting an image of the water onto the floor
of the chamber. Within the dark interior, the walls echo the wave sounds and the
floor appears to become liquid.

This sculpture is a stock of pink sandstone blocks arranged in courses around a
core. The surfaces have been closely worked by hand to create the sense of an ascending
spiral throughout the column.

Otterburn
Otterburn Mill - Set among the rugged
hills and wild moors of Northumberland, 18th century Otterburn Mill has lost none
of its original character and charm. Recently redeveloped, the mill still maintains
a centuries-old tradition of selling high-quality textiles and craft products. The
restoration features a Mill museum displaying much of its original machinery, including
a 19th Century water turbine. Visit the Mill to discover the real meaning of the
phrase "On Tenterhooks", and pause for a while in the spacious coffee
shop or visit the fully networked Tourist Information Centre.

The Old Gaol - Hexham's Old Gaol has reopened with
a new look after major restoration work. A glass lift now gives visitors access
to all four floors, including a view of the infamous dungeon with its 20 foot drop.
