Walking Hadrian's Wall
Hadrian's Wall Path is England's newest National Trail. Launched
in 2003 by the Countryside agency, it is the impetus behind a unique walking experience
within the whole Hadrian's Wall World Heritage site.
The trail is an unbroken 84 mile signposted trail stretching from coast to coast,
from Wallsend in the east to Bowness-on-Solway in the west.
Once Brewed visitors center provides the perfect introduction to walks along Hadrian's
Wall and beyond. It is located on the B6318 Military Road, 1 mile west of Housesteads
Roman Fort. The centre has an exhibition area, an audio-visual theatre with a selection
of videos, a shop and a comprehensive information service. Tel: +44 (0)1434 344396.
